Eugene Kleih

Paul Eugen Kleih (born June 13, 1883 in Urach , † February 19, 1955 in Bad Mergentheim ) was a German administrative officer and district administrator.

Career

Kleih was born the son of a red tanner master. He attended secondary school in Urach from 1890 to 1897. In 1905 he passed the administrative service examination for the upper middle class and entered the service of the city of Heilbronn as an assistant in the same year . From 1908 he was an accountant at the Oberamtssparkasse Heilbronn . His path took him back to his homeland in 1910 as an administrative intern at the Urach Regional Office . In 1914 he came to the Oberamt Mergentheim , which remained his professional place of activity until his retirement. He was initially used as a secretary, was promoted to senior secretary in 1920, later to government councilor and in 1930 to government inspector.

After the city was occupied towards the end of the Second World War, he was appointed by the American military government in early April to June 13, 1945 as acting district administrator for the Mergentheim district . He then worked as a government inspector. On November 1, 1946, he took over the office of deputy district administrator, and on April 1, 1947, he was also the administrator. In 1948 Kleih was appointed district administrator a second time and remained in office until his retirement in 1952.
