Eugene Lang
Eugen Lang (born January 21, 1881 in Schnersheim , † 1966 in Reichenbach ) was a German winemaker .
Career
Lang was born in the village of Schnersheim in Alsace as the son of the farmer Michael Lang and his wife Salomea Lang, née Rauffer. There he learned the basics of agriculture and viticulture. In 1906, at the age of 25, he became the administrator of the Neuweier estate . In 1918 he acquired the Amselberg winery in Binzmatt, which he expanded into a modern winery. His Amselberger Riesling , his Gengenbacher Neuenberg Ruländer and his Müller-Thurgau were among the most excellent wines in the Baden wine-growing region .
From 1930 until its dissolution in 1934, he was President of the Baden Winegrowing Association.
