Eugen Spiridonov (also based on scientific transliteration from the Russian Evgenij Spiridonov ; born April 2, 1982 in Chelyabinsk , Soviet Union ) is a German gymnast of Russian origin.

Eugen Spiridonov first took part in a major senior competition in 2001, the Russian Championships, where he finished ninth in the all-around event. Since 2002 he started for Germany. In the same year he reached rank 14 in the all-around at the German championships. In 2003 he was eighth and sixth on the pommel horse . In 2004 he won his first medals. Spiridonov won the bronze medal in the all-around competition as well as on parallel bars and jumping. In 2005 he won all of these medals again as well as silver on the pommel horse. In that year he also started for the first time at the World Championships and finished tenth in the all- around competition in Melbourne . He also made his debut at the European Championships in 2005 and reached ninth place in the all- around competition in Debrecen . At the World Championships in Århus the following year, Spiridonov finished seventh with the team, at the European Championships in Volos he won the silver medal on the pommel horse. He also won silver at the German championships of the year in all around and on the pommel horse. In 2007 he was at the World Championships of Stuttgart with the German relay to Hambüchen win the bronze medal, thereby creating the Olympic qualifying for the German team. In the same year he was able to celebrate his first German championship title as the winner on the ground. In 2008 he was again third in the all-around competition. At the Olympic Games in Beijing , he finished fourth with the team. The athlete from the TV Bous is currently a sports soldier in the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr Mainz . He lives in Saarbrücken , is trained by Viktor Schweizer and does gymnastics in the Bundesliga with TG Saar .
