Eugen Heinrich von Brockhausen (born March 10, 1857 in Karwitz , Dramburg district , † September 14, 1922 ibid) was a German administrative lawyer and member of parliament .

Life

Eugen von Brockhausen, son of Otto von Brockhausen and nephew of the manor owner and member of the Prussian House of Representatives Eugen von Brockhausen , attended the Knight Academy (Brandenburg an der Havel) . After graduating from high school, he began to study law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In 1876 he became active in the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg . When he was inactive , he moved to the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin . After the first legal examination in 1879, he began the preparation period for the administration of justice . In 1882 he changed as a trainee lawyerinto the internal administration of the Kingdom of Prussia . In 1884 he became district administrator of the Dramburg district .

Elected to the Prussian House of Representatives for the German Conservative Party in 1888 , he resigned on January 16, 1889 before taking office. In the same legislative period he was re-elected in 1892. Brockhausen had been a member of the Reichstag since 1898. He was also an active functionary of the Federation of Farmers .

In 1899 Brockhausen was put into temporary retirement as district administrator . Like other Conservative MPs, he had voted against the proposal to build the Mittelland Canal . Wilhelm II in particular saw this as a breach of loyalty and the official's oath. Thereupon Brockhausen and other civil servants were disciplined.

Professionally, Brockhausen had been the association director of the Pomeranian agricultural cooperatives since 1899.

He remained a member of parliament in Prussia and in the Reichstag until 1918. Until 1917 he was a member of the provincial parliament of the province of Pomerania . After the November Revolution he became honorary chairman of the DNVP in Pomerania .
