Eurico Monteiro Gomes (born September 29, 1955 in Santa Marta de Penaguião ) is a former Portuguese football player .

Career

Gomes started his career in 1977 with Benfica Lisbon . At Benfica he celebrated his first Portuguese championship title, which he won in 1977. He repeated this success in 1979. That year he also moved to city rivals Sporting Lisbon , where he was twice Portuguese champion. He was also able to win the Portuguese Cup and the Portuguese Supercup once.

In 1982 he moved to the third major Portuguese club, FC Porto . There he achieved his greatest successes. He again won the Portuguese title and a Portuguese cup twice, he was also able to win the Portuguese Supercup twice. In Porto he also won the World Cup , European Supercup and European Champion Clubs ' Cup in 1987. He was not used in the final against Bayern Munich . During his time in Porto, he was called to the 1984 European Championship in France , where Portugal was eliminated in the semi-finals. Gomes played four times and received two yellow cards.

From 1987 to 1989 he played for Vitória Setúbal before ending his career.
