Based on the “EU Roadshow” information campaigns in autumn 2005 and spring 2006, the Europaschirm initiative was founded in 2008 and carried out for the first time in Raabs an der Thaya ( Lower Austria ). The initiative was originally planned for two years. Due to its great success, it has been extended again and again to this day.

The European umbrella was used for the thousandth time as part of the Europa Forum Neumarkt of the Federation of European Federalists Styria (BEF) from July 15 to 17, 2017 at Forchtenstein Castle .
