action

Nate Foster is an introverted, sophisticated FBI agent who takes part in an operation against Islamic terrorists. Although he is more or less openly despised by his colleagues, he manages to get the "terrorist" to confess during interrogation by establishing a personal connection, even if it turns out that the suspect is radicalized, but by undercover agents Act was provoked, u. a. by deploying the bomb. At the instigation of the undercover agents, the suspect himself only contributed materials such as a switch, cables and a cell phone.

By accident, two containers of radioactive cesium are discovered in Washington DC . FBI investigations reveal it came from Africa and six other containers were smuggled into the United States. Contrary to the assumption by her colleagues that the cesium is owned by Islamists , the FBI agent Angela Zamparo suspects that right-wing extremists want to make a dirty bomb out of it. Your prime suspect is Dallas Wolf, who broadcasts right-wing extremist slogans on his internet radio station .

At Angela's instigation, Nate Foster is supposed to investigate undercover and establish contact with Wolf. To this end, he goes into the skinhead scene. To do this, he reads into the ideology of the right and takes on a cover identity as a disaffected veteran of the Iraq war. In order to be a particularly attractive recruit for a possible attack with radioactive materials, he claims to have served in an ABC unit . With the help of an informant, Nate can infiltrate a skinhead gang called "Panzerstrikeforce", which he uses to move in the well-networked scene of the right. There he not only meets KKK members and neo-Nazis, but also seemingly normal citizens, such as the cultivated family man Gerry Conway. In the skinhead gang, Nate also meets the youngster Jonny, who has joined the group out of a feeling of loneliness and forlornness, which leads to a friendship between Nate and Jonny. A friendly relationship also develops between Gerry and Nate, as both are fans of classical music. Gerry lends Nate some recordings.

In fact, Nate meets Dallas Wolf and offers him money for his show, but only if Wolf can offer "real actions". This move backfires when Wolf reports to the FBI and identifies Nate as a possible terrorist. Wolf is not right-wing extremist at all, he only uses the scene to earn money.

Nate's mission seems to have failed until he wants to return the borrowed records to Gerry. Frustrated and angry, Nate explains that he always wanted to make a difference, but in the end he was reminded of his powerlessness. Moved by Nate's emotional admission, Gerry reveals to Nate that he has the cesium and plans to build a dirty bomb. Nate is inaugurated as an expert in radioactive substances. The planned access must be brought forward, however, because the conspirators notice their tailors and decide to finish the bomb immediately, although they had to buy the necessary fertilizer under their real name. At the last minute, Nate can use a deception to ensure that the terrorists can be surprised and overwhelmed.

In the last scene, you see the former skinhead Jonny giving a lecture in a school about his entry into the neo-Nazi scene. He meets with Nate in the hallway and the two leave the building together.
