Chris Sullivan (born July 19, 1980 in Palm Springs , California ) is an American actor and musician .

Life

Chris Sullivan was born in Palm Springs , California . He graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a bachelor's degree in theater in 2002.

He has been an actor since 2006. At first he played in a few short films before he also took on series roles such as A Gifted Man , Elementary , The Americans or Stranger Things . From 2014 to 2015 he played the role of Tom Cleary in the series The Knick . In the same year he starred in the film The Drop - Cash .

Sullivan has played the role of Toby in the series This Is Us since 2016 . In 2017 he took on the role of the Ravager Taserface in the Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 . In addition to his appearances in front of the camera, he is also often on the theater stage. Among other things, he appeared on the stages of Chicago for a decade.
