European Banker of the Year

European Banker of the Year is an award that has been presented annually since 1994.

The prize is intended to honor personalities from the European banking world for outstanding achievements. The award ceremony is organized and hosted by the dfv Euro Finance Group. The journalists' association The Group of 20 + 1 nominates and selects the winners. The award ceremony always takes place in Frankfurt / Main. The award is due to Nader Maleki , who initiated the award for the first time in 1994.

After the 2008 financial crisis , Time Magazine named Fred Goodwin (2003 winner) among the top 25 people responsible for the crisis.
