European Nations Cup 2000

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In 2000, the first season of the reformed version of the European Nations Cup (ENC) took place. The reform had become necessary mainly because Italy was accepted into the group of participants in the Six Nations . With Morocco , a member of the Confederation of African Rugby since 1986 , an out-of-competition African country also took part in this first edition. According to the Six Nations model, each team only played once against each opponent, and the game dates also roughly matched those of the Six Nations tournament.

Regulations

The point system used was as follows:

  • 3 points if you win
  • 2 points if there is a tie
  • 1 point if you lose
  • 0 points in the event of a forfait loss

In the event of a tie, the direct encounter made the difference.
