European Nations Cup 2008–2010

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The European Nations Cup 2008–2010 (ENC) was a rugby union competition for European national teams in the second and third class. 36 teams in seven divisions were involved. In Division 1, the ENC winner was determined annually. However, the entire table was used to determine the European participants in the 2011 Rugby World Cup who were not already qualified (see Qualification for the 2011 Rugby World Cup ), as well as to determine who was relegated.

Regulations

The point system used in all divisions was as follows:

  • 3 points if you win
  • 2 points if there is a tie
  • 1 point if you lose
  • 0 points in the event of a forfait loss

In the event of a tie, the direct encounters were decisive.
