The Dutch national rugby union team represents the Netherlands in the sport of rugby union . She plays in the second division of the European Nations Cup and has not yet qualified for a world championship. The Netherlands is the world governing body the International Rugby Board in the third strength class ( third tier divided).
The Dutch national team played their first international match against Belgium on July 1, 1930 and lost 6-0. In the following years both teams played against each other regularly. Romania and Germany were also among the other opponents of the early days . In the 1960s and 1970s, duels were also mainly with Spain , Poland and Sweden . The Dutch suffered the biggest defeat in their history in qualifying for the 1999 World Cup when they lost to England 0-110.
