The Kyrgyz national rugby union team represents Kyrgyzstan in the sport of rugby union . It belongs to the third class of strength ( third tier ). In 2008 a Kyrgyz national rugby team played for the first time in an international match. Previously, the team played as part of the Soviet Union and the Commonwealth of Independent States . So far, the Kyrgyz have not yet qualified for a world championship.

history

In 1936 the Rugby Union Federation of the Soviet Union was founded. The Kyrgyz team was part of this association until 1991. On October 5, 2008, the Kyrgyz national team played the first official game in its history against Iran , which was lost at 15:30. Five days later, the team drew against Uzbekistan at 15:15. The highest defeat in the young history of the association was also against Uzbekistan. In June 2009 Kyrgyzstan lost by 12:31.
