The Arab rugby union team represented the Arabian Peninsula in rugby union . On the composition of the team to participate Bahrain , Kuwait , Oman , Qatar , Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates . The team existed from 1993 to 2010 and was classified by the International Rugby Board (IRB) as a national team of the third category.

history

The first international game of the national union took place on July 3, 1993 against Namibia . They lost 20:64, and in the same week they lost to the selections of Zimbabwe and Kenya . The first victory came in the fourth international match, which was played in 1997. Botswana was clearly defeated with 53:13.

In 2003 and 2007 the team took part in qualifying for the Rugby Union World Cup. There it failed in the qualifying rounds. From 2008 the selection took part in the Asian Five Nations . It was disbanded in 2010 when the United Arab Emirates created their own national team.
