The Afghan national rugby union team represents Afghanistan in rugby union .

history

Rugby union is a relatively new sport in Afghanistan. The association was officially founded in 2011. The national team played their first game barefoot in the "Green Zone" of Kabul against soldiers from the Special Air Service from New Zealand . The nation's first official rugby tournament was sponsored by the British Embassy in December 2011. The first tournament the Afghan team took part in was the Asian Seven Series tournament on April 27, 2012 against the United Arab Emirates . In 2012 they came to England to visit. In June 2012 she took part in the Bournemouth Sevens tournament at Glastonbury . From October 12, 2013 to October 13, 2013, she participated in the Asian Seven Series 2013 in India.
