Rugby Europe International Championships 2017-2018

The Rugby Europe International Championships 2017-2018 (REIC) is a rugby union competition for European national teams in the second and third class, below the Six Nations . They are the second edition of the competition as the successor to the European Nations Cup .

The delivery format differs from that of the previous format. All divisions will be conducted in a one-year cycle instead of the previous two-year cycle. 35 teams in five divisions are involved. In addition, the championships also serve as a competition to determine the European participants of the Rugby World Cup 2019 who are not already qualified (see Qualification for the Rugby World Cup 2019 ).

Regulations

The point system used in all divisions is as follows:

• 4 points if you win
• 2 points if there is a tie
• 0 points if you lose
• 1 bonus point if a team scores at least three attempts more than the opponent in a game
• 1 bonus point for a loss with a difference of seven or less points

Barrage to remain in the Rugby Europe Championship

Due to the involvement of ineligible players in the Rugby Europe International Championships 2017-2018, the teams Romania, Spain and Belgium were deducted points, so that Russia, previously placed fourth, moved up to second and Germany, previously placed sixth, moved up to third place in the table. The deduction of points in the table was 5 points per game with a player who was not eligible to play. Belgium was deducted 15 points, Spain 20 points and Romania 25 points. The evaluations of the individual game results with regard to the game as well as the table points remained the same.
