Eva Maria Roer (born May 19, 1944 in Teplitz-Schönau ) is a German entrepreneur. She is the founder and managing director of the mail order company for dental technology products DT & SHOP in Bad Bocklet .

Life

Roer first studied economics and Russian at the universities in Frankfurt am Main and Hamburg from 1963 . In 1966 she went to Vancouver and graduated from the Graduate School of Economics of the University of British Columbia the master degree in economics.

After her return to Germany, she worked from 1971 to 1973 as an assistant at the chair for statistics and econometrics at Heidelberg University . In 1973 she started her own business and founded the Roer und Partner management consultancy . She remained connected to the academic field until 1979 as a lecturer in economics at the European Division of the University of Maryland .

In 1978 she founded a mail order business for dental laboratory supplies with start-up capital of 8,000 Deutschmarks. With her idea of ​​selling the products via catalog, she was breaking new ground in this branch. In order to promote equal opportunities for women in the long term, Roer initially only hired women. Today DT & SHOP is Europe's largest mail order company for dental technology products. In addition to working in his own company, Roer is also involved in the non-profit association Total E-Quality Deutschland e. V. , which is committed to equal opportunities at work, to the advancement of women in management positions and diversity.

Eva Maria Roer lives in Bad Kissingen . She has been chairwoman of the Bad Kissingen Health Center Association for many years . Since 2014 she has also been a member of the board of directors of the German E-Commerce and Mail Order Association. V. (bevh). Roer has been a member of the University Council of the Coburg University of Applied Sciences since 2015.
