Eva Moosbrugger (born April 11, 1957 in Stuttgart ) is an Austrian painter and sculptor .

Life and education

The Stuttgart-born artist grew up in Dornbirn and Zurich and works in Dornbirn and Venice . From 1974 she studied various painting and material techniques and from 1981 participated in several exhibitions in Europe, the USA and Japan.

In 1984 she made the transition to three-dimensional art with wall and room installations made of wood, iron, concrete and stone, and from 1985 she worked intensively with raku ceramics , integrating ceramic objects into her installations. She has been a freelance artist since 1988 and has made use of private and public work and travel grants and has taken part in international symposia and conferences.

In 1989 she started stone carving and in 1992 attended the summer academy in Salzburg, where she met one of her teachers, Jim Dine , and worked with drawings. In 1995 the first work with glass followed. In 2009 she made her first large-format works made of welded steel and cast bronze.

According to the artist's own statement, the “Friendly Thoughts” recently shown in several exhibitions show the embodiment a three-dimensional translation of the artist's thoughts in the form of sculptures made of glass and thus convey her positive thoughts in the most varied of variations.
