In addition, the university maintains the "Institute for Extra-occupational Studies" (IBS), which emerged from the former "Community Education C Institute".

A total of around 155 people study at the university, around 120 of them in the bachelor's and master's degree programs and around 35 in the courses of the institute for extra-occupational studies.

history

The University of Applied Sciences is based in its roots on the Moritzburger Diakone brotherhood (today the Moritzburg Deacon Association ), which was founded in 1872. With effect from September 1, 1992, the training of the Diakonenhaus Moritzburg was recognized as a university of applied sciences in comparison with religious education courses in the old German states. At the same time, the course became accessible to women.
