Evangelical Church in Reichenbuch

The Evangelical Church in Reichenbuch , a district of Mosbach in the Neckar-Odenwald district ( Baden-Württemberg ), was built in 1908 according to plans by Hermann Behaghel . The church is a protected architectural monument .

history

When the Protestant parishioners decided to build a church in 1906, 138 Catholic and 116 Protestant Christians lived in the village. One parishioner donated the building site and twenty others donated a substantial sum to the church building fund. On April 26, 1908, the foundation stone was laid and the church was consecrated on September 27, 1908.

description

The church building in the historic style has arched windows with frames made of local sandstone . In the gable area above the portal front there is a four-fold window. The gable ends with a small hip . The tower, which is very powerful for the small church and built on the long side, is covered by a pyramid roof with triangular gables. On all four sides of the rectangular tower, dials of the tower clock and sound hatches are attached below the roof .

The ornamental painting inside, which had been painted over during renovations, was exposed again in the 1970s.
