Reichenbuch is a district of the city of Mosbach in the Neckar-Odenwald district in the north of Baden-Württemberg .
geography
Reichenbuch is located on a cleared plateau of the Odenwald near the Neckar valley . The stream flowing through the village flows into the Neckar after around 1.5 km southeast. Reichenbuch is about 6 km north of the main town of Mosbach, the nearest community is Neckargerach, 2 km south-west .
history
Reichenbuch was first mentioned in 1330 as the Richarte book and belonged to the Palatinate Minneburg . The place is probably a medieval clearing settlement, which means that the arable land surrounding the place was once forested and cleared by the early settlers. The town could have been founded from the nearby town of Hartheim, which was lost in the 10th century.
In 1939 there were 199 inhabitants, at the end of 1945 there were 294.
On December 1, 1972, the municipality of Reichenbuch was incorporated into the city of Mosbach together with the municipalities of Lohrbach and Sattelbach . The current mayor of Reichenbuch, Jürgen Brauch, replaced the former Reichenbuch mayor and honorary citizen of Mosbach, Hermann Backfisch.
coat of arms
The blazon of the former Reichenbuch municipal coat of arms reads: In silver on a green three-mountain, a beech with a black trunk, black branches and green leaves.
