Sattelbach is a place in the Neckar-Odenwald district in Baden-Württemberg , which has belonged to Mosbach since 1972 .
geography
Sattelbach is the northeastern part of Mosbach. The place is about seven kilometers north of Mosbach and borders on the neighboring municipality of Fahrenbach . The Neckar-Odenwald-Limes ran through the village in a north-south direction , but nothing has survived here. To the west is the wooded ridge Michelherd, which belongs to the southern foothills of the Odenwald . In the east the place borders on the Trienzbach, a small tributary of the Elz .
history
Sattelbach was first mentioned in a document in 1416. Politically, the place first belonged to the Electoral Palatinate and from 1806 to Baden . In 1910 there were 410 inhabitants, in 1939 there were 379 and at the end of 1945 there were 409. On December 1, 1972, Sattelbach lost its political independence when it was incorporated into Mosbach.

Buildings and monuments
The most important building in the village is the Catholic Church of St. Joseph, which was consecrated in 1955. Before that the place belonged to the parish of Lohrbach. Sattelbach also has a sports hall and a kindergarten.
Sports
The place is home to the football club SV Alemannia Sattelbach, which plays in the district class A Mosbach.

The next train stations are in Neckarburken , Dallau and Mosbach (Baden). Sattelbach once had a train station, which was served by the Odenwald Express. The old Bahnhot now serves as a youth room.
