The Evangelical Church Unteralba (Rhöner Platt: Öngeraller Kirch) is the church of Unteralba (Öngerall), a district of Dermbach (Dermich) in the Wartburg district in Thuringia . It is located in the local area, Karlstraße 95.

history

In 1183, goods belonging to the Herrenbreitungen monastery in a hamlet were called "Albaha". This was initially in the domain of the Frankenstein Counts , whose headquarters were above the district of Kloster in today's district town of Bad Salzungen . When the Frankensteiners fell, parts of their territory in the Feldatal came to the Fulda monastery . These areas were combined and administered as the Fischberg Office. During this time, a chapel can be accepted for the residents of Upper and Lower Alba. As a result of a feud between the Counts of Henneberg and some knights from the Rhön who were in the service of Fulda, both settlements were cremated in 1512. The newly built villages belonged to the Catholic parish of Dermbach. In the 16th century the Reformation was introduced in the Henneberg towns; this also affected the places of the Fischbach / Dermbach office administered as pledges. The Thirty Years' War also hit the places in the Feldatal badly. The reconstruction of the depopulated settlements around Dermbach, which now belonged to the Duchy of Saxony-Eisenach as Eisenacher Oberland , stagnated. On May 25, 1707, the Fulda abbot Adalbert von Schleifras came to Dermbach for a tribute ceremony. The new, old territorial lords of Fulda Abbey began building the Dermbach Castle , which they needed as an official building. This was followed by a re-Catholicization of the office. Church buildings were also approved for subjects with a Protestant creed. The Lower Albanian village church was built in 1708 in the Baroque style, and the building was first restored in 1880.

architecture

The hall church is very simply designed and consists mainly of natural stones and slate in the tower. Frontal on the west side is the entrance portal, which is almost the only decoration. Above it two Gothic windows and a round arched window made of colored lead glass with motifs from the life of Jesus. Two large pointed arch windows on the west and east sides. On the gable roof, which is covered with red tiles, there are three roof gauzes on the left and right. The tower is then a square superstructure, followed by a small hexagonal tower with a Welscher hood.

Furnishing

Particularly noticeable is the linear structure of the font, pulpit altar (with crucifixion group ) and organ, just like in the Dermbacher Heilige Dreifaltigkeit church . The room is characterized by the columns, galleries and benches painted in a green shade with tendrils of leaves.
