The church in Feuerbach

The Evangelical Church in Feuerbach , Lower Franconia, is the parish church of the Wiesentheider district. The church is on Schwarzacher Straße in the middle of the village. The church used to be the town hall. Today the church belongs to the Deanery of Castell .

history

The community of Feuerbach was independent until it was incorporated into Wiesentheid in 1978 and had its own administration. In 1751 a simple town hall was built. The builder is unknown.

With the transition of the Feuerbach population to the Protestant creed, some disputes arose with the Wiesentheid people in the 18th century. The Wiesentheider wanted to go through the Feuerbach district on their pilgrimage to Dettelbach and were stopped by the villagers. In 1872 a simple prayer room was set up for the population in the basement of the town hall. The Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation classifies the church as an architectural monument. Remnants of previous buildings are listed as ground memorials.

Architecture and equipment

The church presents itself as a two-story rectangular building on the main street of the village. The hipped roof ends with a coupled ridge turret. There are two bells in the roof turret, the older of the two was brought from Oberleimbach to Feuerbach and came to the church in the 18th century. The altar of the little church came with the conversion of the basement to Feuerbach.
