history

At that time the county extended to the Schweinfurt area in the north. From 1435 to 1457 the county's territorial decline began . Through the contracts of 24 October and 28 November, 1457 was Count Wilhelm II. Be allodium the Bishopric of Würzburg for an annuity of 500 guilders for fief to. The imperial estate of the counts was not affected by the fief. In 1545, Luther's teaching was introduced into the county . The parishes of Burghaslach (now the deanery Markt Einersheim ), Castell, Eichfeld, Gerbrunn, Obereisenheim (now the deanery Schweinfurt ) and Rüdenhausen belonged to the county . Wiesenbronn was a condominium from Ansbach , Castell and Würzburg and became Protestant together with Ansbach in 1528. Due to the earlier dominance of Würzburg in the central and northern deanery area, these areas are predominantly Catholic with Protestant islands.
The ruling lords of the county of Castell were summi episcopi in their parts of the country; In other words, the county of Castell formed its own regional church. The ius circa sacra was first perceived through consistories . During the time of the Grand Duchy of Würzburg , a Castell inspection was established on September 24, 1810, which was continued as the Rüdenhausen Bavarian inspection from June 19, 1814 .
