The Evangelical Lutheran deanery in Passau is one of the eight deaneries in the Regensburg church district . Wolfgang Bub is currently the dean. The area of the deanery extends from the Bavarian Forest to just before the city of Landshut . 32,000 Protestant Christians live in 16 parishes in the deanery district. The deanery district is a diaspora area. Protestant traditions since the Reformation can only be found in the area of the former imperial county of Ortenburg . The Reformation was introduced there in 1563 by Count Joachim .
