history

During the Reformation, sovereignty lay in the greater part of today's deanery district with the Margraviate of Brandenburg-Ansbach . In 1528, Ansbach introduced the Reformation. Notwithstanding this, Amelbruch became Protestant in 1531 and Beyerberg in 1555. Aufkirchen and Fürnheim belonged to the county of Oettingen . Luther's teaching was introduced there in 1541 and 1546 . In 1556 the Ansbach dean's office Wassertrüdingen was established. Around 1650, exiles from the little country above the Enns settled here . On December 7, 1810, the transition to the Bavarian State Church was completed.
