The Evangelical Lutheran Deanery Bad Tölz is one of the twelve deaneries of the Munich and Upper Bavaria church district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria . It was refurbished in 1997. Acting dean is Martin Steinbach.
geography
The Dean's Office Bad Tölz was founded on October 15, 1997 and comprises 12 parishes in the two districts of Bad Tölz / Wolfratshausen and Miesbach . Only at the edges does the Dean's office extend into the districts of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Munich .
The 8 eastern parishes originally belonged to the dean's office in Rosenheim, the 4 western parishes (Ebenhausen, Wolfratshausen, Geretsried and Kochel) originally belonged to the dean's office in Weilheim. In terms of area, both deaneries were among the largest in Bavaria.
Due to the growth of the Protestant population in the foothills of the Alps, the church administrative units had to be reduced in size. Currently, around 33,000 Protestants live in the deanery among around 210,000 residents of the two districts.
