Evangelical Church Crumstadt
The Protestant parish church is a listed church building in Crumstadt , a district of Riedstadt, Groß-Gerau district ( Hesse ).
History and architecture
The church, formerly dedicated to St. Maternus , was built in 1593. The client was Landgrave Georg I. It is an interesting example of the search for your own Protestant room and structure before the Thirty Years War . The high hall building with a three-sided end is crowned with a roof turret. The walls are divided into two rows by pointed arch windows. The lower part of the eastern choir was separated for the sacristy and a staircase.
Furnishing
- The galleries date from the 19th century.
- The stone pulpit base and the wooden pulpit lid were made at the end of the 16th century.
- The organ case from the 19th century is adorned with rich carvings from the 17th century.
