The Protestant Church Diedenshausen is a listed church building in Diedenshausen , a district of Gladenbach in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district ( Hesse ).

history

The current building was erected in the first years 1802 to 1806, after the stone previous building of the community had become too small and also dilapidated. A collection approved by the state government of the Landgraviate of Hessen-Darmstadt did not yield enough to complete the planned and approved new stone building. The community then ignored the official instructions to build from stone and built the second floor out of wood without a permit. A site inspection on August 1, 1805 by the church and school council for the Upper Principality of Gießen found that the community had made the second floor out of wood in an unauthorized and criminal manner, but that this could no longer be changed without considerable damage, and that the Government of the municipality should block the construction subsidies.

architecture

The ship therefore is in the basement of stone, upstairs from the gable ends verschiefertem truss . On the pseudomansard roof there is an octagonal ridge turret with a pointed helmet . The small half-timbered choir closes on three sides. The west portal dates from 1806.
