Evangelical Church Drevenack
The Protestant church is a listed church building in Drevenack , a district of the municipality of Hünxe in the Wesel district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
History and architecture
Originally dedicated to St. Sebastian church was first mentioned in 1291 as a parish church . It has been reformed since around 1560 .
The two-aisled brick church was built in the 15th century. In the west and south walls, parts of a hall church from the middle of the 12th century made of Grauwackenbruchstein have been preserved. The three-storey front west tower also dates from this time . The tower is undivided except for two coupled sound openings in the bell storey. The steep slate pyramid was built in 1706. The west portal was let in in 1850. The sacristy on the south side was built in 1950 and at the same time the Gothic tracery was replaced by cast iron.
Furnishing
- A font from 1717 made of Baumberger sand-lime stone , the basin of which is decorated with garlands and angel heads.
- A wooden pulpit from 1674
- The organ front was built in the 18th century, the organ works from 1977
- Two memorial stones from the 12th century are walled in in the tower hall
