History and architecture
The church is a small hall building made up of three square bays . Like the retracted west tower, it was built from Anröchter sandstone at the end of the twelfth century and placed under the patronage of St. Michael. In the course of the Reformation , the community became Protestant.
The east yoke is divided as a choir room , this is yoked in with strong shield arches . The originally flat roofed nave bays were provided with rib vaults in 1502 . A gallery was removed in 1960 as part of a renovation.
The church is surrounded by a circular building with half-timbered houses typical of the Middle Ages.
