The Protestant parish church is a listed church building in Ledde , a district of Tecklenburg in the Steinfurt district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

History and architecture

The building is a two-bay long house with ridge vaults between round arched belts and shield arches. The church was built in the 13th century from sandstone blocks. The arched windows in the nave were subsequently extended. The choir , consecrated in 1501, with a 5/8 ending was added later. The west tower is provided with a late Gothic pointed helmet. On the north side of the nave is a round arched, Romanesque column portal in a box-like frame. In the nave, groin vaults rest on pillars with strong shield and belt arches, the ribbed vault in the choir rests on consoles.

Under Hermann Höhn , who was pastor of the Evangelical Parish of Ledde from 1958 to 1978, the village church was extensively renovated in the 1960s. Historical paintings in the choir were exposed again. The church also received new stalls and in 1969 a new organ at the end of the work . In addition, Höhn founded the Ledde Trombone Choir in 1959, which regularly enriches not only the church services. Höhn also achieved that a new, spacious parish hall was built in 1962.
