Evangelical parish church in Deutsch Jahrndorf
The Evangelical Lutheran parish church Deutsch Jahrndorf is located in the center of the municipality Deutsch Jahrndorf ( Hungarian : Németjárfalu , Slovak : Nemecké Jarovce ) in the Neusiedl am See district in Burgenland . It belongs to the Superintendent of Burgenland . It is the easternmost sacred building in Austria and at the same time in the German-speaking area .
history
Construction on this parish church began in 1837 and was consecrated in 1838 . It was built by Gottfried Brendel from Pressburg (now Bratislava ).
Architecture and equipment
The church is a hall with a strict pilaster structure . On the facade of the east tower is an inscription with the consecration year 1838. The interior has five bays. Above it is a barrel vault . The pulpit altar dates from the construction period and has a beautiful wrought iron grille from 1795.
