The Evangelical Lutheran parish church Nickelsdorf AB is located on Untere Hauptstrasse in the Nickelsdorf community in the Neusiedl am See district in Burgenland . The parish church belongs to the Superintendentur AB Burgenland and is a listed building .

history

The church or the tolerance prayer house was built in 1787 and consecrated on October 11, 1787. After Protestant churches were allowed to have a tower and a bell from 1791, the first bell was purchased in 1797 and raised in a wooden frame. In 1823 a tower was added to the northwest facade.

In 1865 the church was elevated to a parish church.

architecture

The octagonal three-storey tower with a bell house built on to the north has a pointed helmet.

The three-bay hall has square vaults between double belts on double pilasters . The windows have recessed niches. The gallery running around three sides stands on wooden supports.

Furnishing

The pulpit altar from the end of the 18th century shows the oil painting Crucifixion between Ionic columns, the pulpit above it has a basket decorated with braids and meshes and a volute pedestal, which carries a figure of the Lamb of God .

The organ was built by Franz Ullmann in 1862 .
