Eve McCrystal (born July 28, 1978 in Dundal ) is an Irish cyclist who competes in the elite street races and is active as a pilot in paracycling .
Athletic career
Eve McCrystal has been a racing driver since 2012 - when she was 33 years old - but almost exclusively competed in local street races. Several times she took podium places at Irish road championships; In 2018 she became national champion.
Since 2013 McCrystal has also acted as a pilot for the visually impaired driver Katie-George Dunlevy . The two riders achieved numerous successes in tandem races in Paracycling Class B together. In 2014 , the duo became vice world champions in road races . The following year they won gold in the individual time trial and silver in the road race at the Summer Paralympics . In 2017 and 2018 they became two-time world champions in both road disciplines; In 2019 they won silver and gold. On the track , they took third place in the pursuit in 2015 and 2018 .
