Evelyn Achhorner

Evelyn Achhorner (born October 23, 1965 in Hall in Tirol ) is an Austrian politician of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ). She has been a member of the Tyrolean state parliament since March 2018 .

Life

Evelyn Achhorner visited after the elementary school in rum the Academic High School Innsbruck , where she in 1984 graduated . She then completed a commercial college at the HAK Innsbruck . In 1986 she began studying architecture at the University of Innsbruck , which she completed in 1993 with a diploma thesis on the subject of urban planning solutions at the Grassmayr Crossing Innsbruck as a graduate engineer. She then worked for the Prachensky & Leitgeb architecture firm in Innsbruck until 1996 . In 1996 she passed the civil engineering examination and has been a freelance architect since 1997. In 2012 she obtained the Certificate for Governance Excellence at the Executive Academy of the Vienna University of Economics and Business .

career

In the municipal council elections in Innsbruck in 2000, she was the FPÖ top candidate. Until 2005 she was a member of the federal board of the Freedom Economy (FW) and regional chairwoman of the Freedom Economy Tyrol. Since 2016 she has been women's chairwoman of the FPÖ Tirol , deputy city party chairwoman of the FPÖ Innsbruck and chairwoman of the Initiative for Freedom Women (IFF) Tirol. On March 28, 2018, she was in the constituent state parliament session of the XVII. Legislative term as Member of the Tyrolean Parliament sworn in , where they, education, culture and sports and in the Interregional parliamentary Commission triple parliament is a member of the Committee on Housing and Transport, the Committee on society.

Controversy

In April 2018, Achhorner caused a stir by liking and commenting on an allegedly racist Facebook post by the editor of the FPÖ medium "Neue Freie Zeitung" Robert Lizar. In the posting, Lizar wrote about the deputy head of the 1st district of Vienna, Mireille Ngosso ( SPÖ ), who was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo : " I'm not sure now whether I still know the roots and identity of my hometown ". Achhorner commented on the posting with “ woman or man? ” Compared to the daily newspaper Kurier , Achhorner justified himself as follows: “ Posting whether a woman or a man was not meant to be racist. As an FP functionary (who works in a male profession ), I often get this question whether I am a woman or a man. That is why I did not find anything reprehensible about this question in the post. I would like to emphasize clearly that I am far from any racism. "
