In 1873 this locomotive received a gold medal at the world exhibition in Vienna . More than 40 of this model had been produced by 1876 and sold to private railway companies throughout Germany.

In 1881 Busse finally founded his own machine factory, which later became the iron foundry and machine factory Ewald Busse GmbH . In the factory, steam engines of all kinds were initially repaired and steam boilers manufactured. From 1910, the company also produced equipment for agriculture and special parts for mechanical engineering.

In July 1921, Busse handed the company over to his son Richard Busse. The company continued to exist under various successors until 1991.
