Ewald Felber

Ewald Felber (born March 24, 1947 in Vienna ) is an Austrian music teacher, guitarist and composer. From 2007 to 2013 he taught guitar and instrumental didactics at the Vienna University of Education .

Career and work

Felber first studied business administration . His musical and pedagogical training includes studies in music pedagogy , musicology and pedagogy . In 1983 he qualified as a qualified teacher at the University of Education in Vienna. He had already received his guitar teaching qualification in 1976 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna . In 1993 he received his doctorate from the University of Vienna. phil.
Felber worked as a specialist guitar teacher at the Vienna Music School from 1973 to 1981 . He was appointed professor on October 20, 1983 and March 1, 2000 , and on August 3, 1998 he was awarded the professional title of Oberstudienrat (OStR). From 1981 to 2007 he taught academic and didactic subjects as a professor at the Pedagogical Academy in Vienna. From 1987 to 1995 he also worked as a lecturer in teacher training at the Pedagogical Institute of the City of Vienna . As part of the Erasmus lecturer exchange , Felber has been teaching at various European universities since 1998.

At concerts, Felber particularly performs works from the Renaissance to the present day, and his activities as a live musician include musical accompaniments at poetry readings and vernissages . His artistic activity also included television appearances and recordings on records and CDs.
Felber is a composer of solo compositions for guitar, songs and the Singspiel Wien, a city in major and minor ; he also wrote various scientific articles with a focus on music education.
Ewald Felber has been listed in the 2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century at the International Biographical Center since 2005 .

Private

Felber is married and has one son (* 1981).

Award

In 2003 he was awarded the prize for solo concert pieces in the composition competition of the Austrian Composers' Association.
