Ewald flame

Ewald Flamme (born August 3, 1896 in Solingen ; † April 1, 1962 ) was a German politician of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and honorary district administrator in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life and work

After attending primary school , he completed a commercial apprenticeship . Flamme had belonged to the SPD since 1923. From 1926 to 1939 he was the managing director of the building association. In 1944, Ewald Flamme was imprisoned for participating in the uprising against Hitler on July 20, 1944 .

After the Second World War , Flamme was a member of the construction industry union from 1945 and again managing director of the building association until 1962.

MP

From September 30, 1957 to July 12, 1958 Flamme was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He moved up on the state list of the SPD. The Landtag had already elected him a member of the first Federal Assembly, which had elected Theodor Heuss as Federal President in 1949 .

He was a member of the district council of the former Rhein-Wupper district from 1946 to 1962. Flamme was a member of the city council of Opladen from 1945 to 1955.

He was also a member of the landscape assembly of the Rhineland Regional Council .

Public offices

From December 3, 1958 to April 10, 1961 he was district administrator of the Rhein-Wupper district.

Flamme was active in various committees of the district council of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Honors

In Opladen (today Leverkusen ) the Ewald-Flamme-Straße was named after him.
