Eugen Schneider (District Administrator)

Eugen Schneider (born October 26, 1898 in Gevelsberg ; † May 31, 1983 in Leverkusen ) was a German trade union official and district administrator .

Life

After an apprenticeship as a locksmith and participating in the First World War , Schneider worked in his learned profession until 1925, before attending the technical college for economics and administration in Mönchengladbach from 1925 to 1927. Then until 1933 he worked as a union secretary before this occupation after the seizure of power by the National Socialists lost and was unemployed. After a brief activity for the paint factories in Leverkusen in 1938 and 1939, he had to return to the Wehrmacht after the Second World War and was a soldier until 1940. Eugen Schneider, a member of the CDU from the very beginning, became managing director of the Chemical Industry Union in Leverkusen after the end of the war in 1945 , a position he held until 1962. From 1945 to 1948 he was also a member of the district assembly of the Rhein-Wupper district and was also a district administrator for two terms from October 28, 1946 to November 2, 1948. In addition, Schneider was a member of the city council in Leverkusen.
