geography

River course

The river arises at the settlement Breedalbene , about 100 kilometers south of Boulia on the Diamantina Developmental Road , from the Georgina River . It flows south, along the road that it crosses at Bedourie . He then follows Eyre Developmental Road south for another 50 kilometers and then turns west. Eyre Creek flows through Lake Koolivoo and Lake Mipia and then seeps into the underground east of the Simpson Desert .

At the ghost town of Annandale it comes to the surface again and absorbs the water of the Mulligan River , which drained a few kilometers north . It continues its way south on the edge of the Simpson Desert, crosses the border to South Australia and flows into the Goyder Lagoon and thus into the Warburton River .
