Eyvind Earle

Eyvind Earle (born April 26, 1916 in New York City , † July 20, 2000 in Carmel-by-the-Sea , California ) was an American painter , author and illustrator . His work for Walt Disney in the 1950s is particularly well known .

In 1937 Eyvind Earle had his first exhibition in New York. Two years later, his pictures hung for the first time in the Metropolitan Museum of Art , today they can be seen there in a permanent exhibition, as well as in various other museums in the USA. There are also exhibitions of Eyvind Earl's works around the world, for example in 2008/08 in the "Kunsthalle München" and the "Münchner Stadtmuseum". His early works were kept in a realistic style. In the 1940s he also created more than 800 Christmas cards for the “American Artist Group”.

In 1951 he started working as a background painter at Walt Disney Studios . Although he was already involved in two full-length films and various short films with Peter Pan (1953) and Susi und Trolch (1955), today he is primarily known for Sleeping Beauty , one of "[...] the artistic highlights of animation film in the 20th .
