Work and success
In 2004, the Fürst-Pückler-Region eV took over the idea of the garden culture trails from the Deutsche Gartenbau-Gesellschaft 1822 eV (DGG) and anchored the regional characteristics in the Gartennetz Deutschland eV Existing parks and gardens in the region should be developed for tourism across borders and their maintenance status improved and work together for it. In addition to working towards merging the garden culture path on both sides of the Neisse , park seminars were held to raise awareness and train the owners and local stakeholders . In May 2010, 16 members founded the sponsoring association “Garden culture path on both sides of the Neisse” based in Bad Muskau, in order to anchor the planned projects in the region, promote contact with one another and be effective as a cross-border association in the future. In March 2012, two large EU projects were approved: 461,200 euros for the parks, gardens and their cross-border tourist marketing, a further 574,000 euros for the expansion of the hiking and cycling network and ten additional water entry and exit points for canoeists along the Lusatian rivers Neisse.
