The FC Iskra-Stali Rîbnița ( Russian ФК Искра-Стал ) is a Moldovan football club from Rîbnița , which plays in the third Moldovan league Divizia B North .

history

The club was founded in 1995 as Cimentul Rîbnița and started in the second Moldovan league (Divizia A). In 2002 he took the club name FC Iskra-Stali Rîbnița, which is still valid today . Since the 2006/07 season, the club has played in the first division throughout. On August 27, 2006 (9th matchday) Rîbnița celebrated his first victory in the Divizia Națională by defeating FC Olimpia Bălți 1-0 at home. The first season ended in ninth and penultimate place in the table, but the team did not have to relegate due to the expansion of the league at the time. In the following season 2007/08 Rîbnița established itself already in the secured midfield and was sixth at the end of the season.

Another year later, the club improved again and reached third place in the table. This qualified for the 2009/10 UEFA Europa League and for the first time in the club's history for an international competition. There Rîbnița failed in the second qualifying round with 0: 1 and 0: 3 against the Bulgarian representative Cherno More Varna . Also in the 2009/10 season Rîbnița played strong and secured the 2nd place in the table behind Sheriff Tiraspol , who were champions for the 10th time in a row. Once again, this also meant qualifying for the UEFA Europa League . Again, however, the club failed in the second qualifying round, this time at the Swedish club IF Elfsborg . After the 2012/13 season, the club got into financial difficulties and was without a stadium after the city withdrew the rights to the Orășenesc. As a result, Iskra-Stali, who had actually managed to stay in the league with 9th place, waived another participation in the Divizia Națională . The club started in the 2013/14 season in the third-class Divizia B North .

Stadion

The club played its home games in the 4000-seat Orăşenesc stadium in Rîbnița from its inception until the summer of 2013 . The city in the de facto independent Transnistria closed the stadium in the summer of 2013 and forbade the club from further staging point games. The club therefore renounced the start in the Divizia Națională and played the 2013/14 season in the Divizia B Nord in the Stadionul CPSM with 1000 places, in Vadul lui Vodă not far from the Moldovan capital Chișinău .
