The soccer club FC Luzern Frauen was founded in 2004. The club colors are blue and white, which corresponds to the Lucerne city and canton coat of arms.

Club history

FC Luzern Frauen are the first all-female football club in Switzerland. The club was created on July 1, 2004 as SC LUwin.ch from the women's football department of FC Sursee. This saw himself no longer able to support the women's team alone, which is why the manager Z'Rotz looked for help and found two supporters in Graf and Schmidt. The trio then founded the SC LUwin, in whose statutes the promotion of women’s sports and the openness to other ball sports were anchored.

In 2002 they celebrated a double success: the soccer team won both the championship title and the cup victory. The club won the championship title five more times until 2006. Success was also achieved in the cup. With the exception of 2003, the cup victory went to the women of SC LUwin four times in a row (2002, 2004 to 2006). For the first time in the history of Swiss women's football, the SC LUwin team reached the second round of the UEFA Women's Cup .

Marisa Brunner has been voted Footballer of the Year twice. Even Lara Dickmann and Monica Di Fonzo could win the title for themselves. Furthermore, appointments to the respective national teams as well as the international transfers show the importance of the players at this time. Lara Dickenmann, Gaelle Thalmann, Rahel Graf, Marisa Brunner, Martina Moser, Monica Di Fonzo and Ramona Bachmann found a new challenge abroad.

From the 2011/2012 season onwards, SC LUwin.ch was incorporated as an independent section at FC Luzern . The aim of this integration into the main club is to specifically promote women's football in Central Switzerland. The young footballers will be able to benefit from the cooperation with the traditional club not only in the field of football, but also in other matters. In July 2011, the women's football section of FC Luzern will provide a U13 team in addition to the existing U15 team (C-Juniors) in the youth division. Both junior teams will train and play on the Allmend. The U12 team and the 2nd team will also be reorganized in the following season. With the name change and integration into FC Luzern, the club now also has its clearly defined home in the city of Lucerne.

At the end of the 2013/2014 season, another section was added to the club at the general assembly of FC Luzern. The women's football department of SC Kriens is moving to FC Luzern in July 2014. From this point in time, FC Luzern now also has a department for top women's football. Similar to the existing section in popular sport, the women's top-level football section is independent. The first team plays in the National League A, the highest league in Swiss women's football. In order to ensure sustainability, work is also carried out in the junior division. The U18 team, which takes part in a national championship, is at the forefront of the young generation. The youngest junior team is the U16 team, which currently only plays regionally. According to the Swiss Football Association, a new game mode should be put into operation from summer 2015. Then the teams play in a U17 or U19 championship.
