Marisa Brunner (born May 28, 1982 in Aarau ) is a former Swiss football player . Until March 6, 2013 she was the record player for her country.
Soccer
Club football
The goalkeeper played since the 2006/2007 season at SC Freiburg in the first women's division . Brunner began her career in 1993 at FC Oberentfelden , then moved to FC Aarau in 1994 and to FC Sursee in 2001 (since July 1, 2004: SC LUwin.ch Luzern ), with whom she became Swiss champion five times and won the national cup competition four times. In 2006 she moved to the German Bundesliga club SC Freiburg, where she ended her active career on March 12, 2012. After a seven-month break, she made her comeback at the 2nd Bundesliga East club SC Sand on October 28, 2012 in an away 4-2 win against FFC Frankfurt II .
Selection teams
Brunner played a number of times in the Aargau selection and the Swiss U-18 national team before she rose to number one in the goal of the senior national team, in which she made her debut on March 29, 2003 in Köniz against Slovakia (final score 4: 0).
On March 14, 2012, she announced the end of her career due to an injury with immediate effect. She played her last international match on March 4, 2012 as part of the Cyprus Cup against Finland . She played a total of 78 international matches for Switzerland.
On October 23, 2012, Martina Moser set Brunner's record in the 3-0 defeat against Sweden with her 78th international match and surpassed him on March 6, 2013 in the 2-0 defeat against Canada , so that Moser is now sole Swiss record national player. Brunner is still the record goalkeeper in Switzerland.

Brunner is currently (as of January 2009) studying German , computational linguistics and comparative literature at the University of Zurich .
