Gaëlle Thalmann (born January 18, 1986 ) is a Swiss football player .
Career
society
Thalmann began her career at FC Bulle at the age of eleven . She then played for FC Riaz and FC Vétroz. Her first stop in the senior camp was FC Rot-Schwarz Thun . After just one year, she switched to DFC Zuchwil (today: FFC Zuchwil 05 ), with whom she became vice champion and league cup winner in 2006. The move to SC LUwin.ch Lucerne followed . After a trial session at 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam , she signed a contract there on January 8, 2008 until June 30, 2009. She played her first Bundesliga game on February 24, 2008 in the away game against Hamburger SV . In 2009 she and her team won the DFB Indoor Cup and the German championship. For the 2009/10 season she moved to Hamburger SV. After the relegation of 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig in May 2012, Thalmann moved to the Italian Serie A club ASD Torres . The move to MSV Duisburg followed in summer 2014 . After MSV Duisburg was relegated to the second division, Thalmann returned to Switzerland and signed with FC Basel . In 2016 she moved to the Italian league for AGSM Verona Calcio Femminile.
International
On June 17, 2007 she made her debut in goal for the Swiss national team. Previously, Thalmann took part in the World Cup in Russia with the U-20 national team. She is also part of the Swiss squad for the 2015 World Cup in Canada (despite a torn cruciate ligament in November 2014) .
