The Football Club Rodingen 91 is a Luxembourgish football club from Rodingen .

history

FC Rodingen 91 was formed in 1991 as a merger of the two Rodanger clubs FC Chiers (founded in 1907) and FC Racing (founded in 1931). Chiers played between 1938 and 1980 for a total of 14 years in the national division , the highest division in Luxembourg. FC Racing played a total of seven seasons in the top class between 1946 and 1956 and made it to the cup final in 1949, where it lost 1-0 to Stade Dudelange .

FC Rodingen 91 played in the honorary doctorate (second highest division) since 1991 . In 1995, he was promoted to the national division, which FC 91 had to leave after two years. The resurgence in 2000 was followed by an immediate decline. After three years in the honorary doctorate, FC Rodingen 91 rose to the 2nd division.

After being promoted to the third class 1st division in 2012, Rodingen won the barrage game against the 11th honorary doctorate, CS Oberkorn , with 4: 0 in 2013 and returned to the second division after nine years.

In the 2016/17 season, the Roding team managed to return to the top class early three game days before the end of the season. As 13th of the BGL Ligue the direct relegation followed. In the following 2018/19 season , Rodingen, as master of the honorary doctorate , achieved immediate promotion back to the BGL Ligue.
