history
FC Wolfurt was founded in 1947 . From 1966 to 1970 the club played four seasons in the Regionalliga West, which was then the second highest league in Austria. The best position in the final table was achieved in 1967 with 9th place.
FC Wolfurt had its most successful period in the recent past at the beginning of the 1990s . The greatest success in the club's history was winning the Vorarlberg Football Cup in 1990 . In the following year, the club was allowed to play for the ÖFB Cup and got the "dream ticket" FC Swarovski Tirol , with the famous coach Ernst Happel , in the first main round . FC Wolfurt lost 1: 8. In 1993 they were finally able to become champions of the Vorarlbergerliga and rose to the Regionalliga , the third highest league in Austria. Since relegation, the club has narrowly failed to rise again several times. The cup final was reached in 2006 and 2012, but it was lost on penalties against RW Rankweil in 2006 and 3-0 against FC Dornbirn in 2012. In the 2018/19 season, the championship title in the Vorarlberg League was won.
